Alaska Sustainable Energy Conference and Pre-Event (May 20-23, 2024)
Department of Energy leadership from the Office of Electricity, Arctic Energy Office, Office of State and Community Energy Programs, Office of Intergovernmental and External Affairs, Office of Technology Transitions, and Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy participated in the Alaska Sustainable Energy Conference. On May 20 the Arctic Energy Office hosted a pre-conference event with 200+ attendees connecting the National Labs and Arctic Energy Ambassadors to attendees. On May 21, Department of Energy lead plenary sessions, welcome remarks by Lt. Governor and Governor of Alaska, a panel on renewable portfolio standards featuring NREL, a lunch presentation on the future of fossil fuels, a panel on community-centered energy solutions featuring NREL and a closing plenary moderated by NREL Director Martin Keller on the topic of integrating renewables.

Webinar: Arctic Energy Ambassadors Information Session (November 9, 2023)
Applications closed for the Arctic Energy Ambassadors program on November 22. This webinar guided participants through the expectations and priorities for the program, to inform those interested in applying. Chris Castro, Chief of Staff for the Office of State and Community Energy Programs, and Caroline McGregor, Senior Policy Analyst, Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, joined as guest speakers. ArcticX (May 2022)
ArcticX culminated on May 23, 2022, with an in-person event to solidify partnerships forged over this InnovationXLab series. Taking place at the Dena’ina Center in Anchorage, this summit organized by the Office of Technology Transitions and Arctic Energy Office focused on driving energy technologies for a more sustainable Arctic region. Attendees from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Alaska Native communities, national laboratories, and Arctic businesses gathered to leverage the strength and knowledge of local entrepreneurs to advance energy affordability, reliability, and innovation.
