The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide funding to Oregon State University (OSU) to conduct research on cetaceans and seabirds along the U.S. West Coast. Data would be used to provide spatially and temporally explicit species-specific distribution and density maps and models for cetaceans and seabirds in the shelf-slope waters of the northern California Current which would be used to inform siting of offshore wind platforms.
