The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Solar Energy Technology Office (SETO) is proposing to provide funding to the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) to partner with the University of Massachusetts (UMass) at Amherst. The purpose of the proposed project is to identify ideal crop types for use in solar and agricultural co-location sites, and to evaluate crop productivity changes under differing solar configurations.
