The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide federal funding to the Regents of the University of California, Berkeley to develop an open-source common data schema, Brick, into a demonstrated and tested tool that, through the implementation of advanced algorithms and analysis, could enable the scaling of energy savings, improved building performance, and grid responsiveness across commercial buildings at low cost.
