Summary
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Portland District), with Bonneville Power Administration as a cooperating agency, is preparing an EIS that analyzes the potential environmental impacts of continued operation and maintenance of the Willamette Valley System while meeting obligations pursuant to the Endangered Species Act. The Willamette Valley System is located in Benton, Clackamas, Lane, Linn, Marion, Multnomah, Polk, Washington, and Yamhill Counties (Oregon). It consists of 13 multipurpose dams and reservoirs, riverbank protection projects in the Willamette River Basin, and hatchery programs to mitigate impacts on fish habitat.
For more information, see the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers website for the Willamette Valley System EIS. Bonneville Power Administration website also has this EIS.
