Western Area Power Administration (Western) issued a Record of Decision (ROD) for the TransWest Express Transmission Project in Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, and Nevada on January 12, 2017, based on an EIS that Western prepared jointly with the Bureau of Land Management. The EIS evaluates the potential environmental impacts of an overhead transmission line that would extend approximately 725 miles from south-central Wyoming, through Colorado and Utah. With this ROD, Western selects the agency preferred alternative identified in the EIS as the route for the project. The ROD was published in the Federal Register on April 3, 2017.
