"While my passion for STEM has always been strong, the Minority Serving Institution Partnership Program (MSIPP) elevated it to new heights. I first heard about MSIPP through a Quality Control in Additive Manufacturing (QCAM) consortium workshop at New Mexico State University (NMSU). Attending the workshop was a turning point for me, igniting my passion for 3D printing and additive manufacturing.

During my time with MSIPP and QCAM, I had the privilege of collaborating with two national laboratories: Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) and Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). At both labs, I honed a range of technical skills, including advanced 3D printing techniques and the analysis of components using Computed Tomography scanning. These experiences not only expanded my technical expertise, but also deepened my understanding of real-world applications.

MSIPP has been transformative in shaping both my academic and career paths. By obtaining a scholarship from QCAM, I have been able to pursue a master’s degree while connecting with exceptional mentors at LANL. Through these connections, I secured an internship at a national laboratory, where I had the opportunity to showcase my skills. This ultimately led to a job offer to work as an engineer in the non-destructive testing fields. The mentorship I received from QCAM directors provided invaluable professional guidance and personal support, equipping me with the confidence and resources to excel."
