Awards to SeaTech Global Security Solutions and Parsons Government Services International, Inc. valued up to a combined $1 billion

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The National Nuclear Security Administration’s Office of Nuclear Smuggling Detection and Deterrence (NSDD) announced the Counter Nuclear Smuggling System Deployment (CNSSD) contract awards, valued up to a combined $1 billion, to SeaTech Global Security Solutions of Richland, Washington, and Parsons Government Services International, Inc. of Pasadena, California, to bolster global security.  

Through these contracts, SeaTech Global Security Solutions and Parsons Government Services International, Inc., will undertake the critical task of deploying advanced counter nuclear smuggling systems globally. This initiative is crucial to enhancing the capabilities of agencies in partner countries to detect, disrupt, and investigate the illicit trafficking of radioactive and nuclear materials.   

Both awardees have proven expertise both in the field and in developing innovative approaches to security solutions. The decision to award these contracts followed a rigorous selection process, with SeaTech Global Security Solutions and Parsons Government Services International, Inc., demonstrating their capability to manage and oversee complex logistics, system design, construction, equipment procurement, testing, and the establishment of comprehensive communications networks.  

Work under these contracts will further solidify NSDD’s ability to build the capabilities of international partners to prevent the acquisition of radioactive and nuclear materials by malign actors. The deployment of these systems will significantly enhance the detection and response capabilities of international partners, contributing to U.S. Government nonproliferation goals.  

The Counter Nuclear Smuggling System Deployment contracts with SeaTech Global Security Solutions and Parsons Government Services International, Inc. reflect NNSA’s strategic approach to collaborating with industry to address critical security challenges globally and underscore the Department’s dedication to leveraging developing technologies and expertise to enhance global security by preventing radioactive and nuclear materials from being used in acts of terrorism.
