Richard Arnold

Richard Arnold is Southern Paiute from Pahrump, Nevada, and serves as spokesperson for the Consolidated Group of Tribes and Organizations (CGTO). CGTO is comprised of 16 tribes from Nevada, California, Utah, and Arizona that focus on expanding government-to-government interactions. In his role, Arnold focuses on developing national policy and implementing progressive approaches for building capacity and increasing interactions among federal, tribal, state governments and local municipalities.

Arnold is a member of the Department of Energy’s chartered Nuclear Energy Tribal Working Group, State Tribal Government Working Group, and co-chairman of the Tribal Radioactive Materials Transportation Committee, which works closely with the Department’s National Transportation Stakeholders Forum. He has also served as former chairman of the State of Nevada Indian Commission.

Arnold has received numerous awards and citations throughout his career and has served as a delegate to the White House Conference on Indian Education. He has co-authored numerous reports and journal articles pertaining to American Indian topics focusing on understanding complex situations. Arnold also serves on several technical working groups, where he facilitates discussions and evaluates research, development, and implementation strategies.

Arnold completed his undergraduate and graduate work at Cal-State Long Beach and has a background in administrative management.
