Dinesh Mehta is the Deputy Director of Loan Origination within the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Loan Programs Office. Prior to DOE, Mr. Mehta was Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis for ContourGlobal’s worldwide operations and spent seven years with Constellation Energy where he initially was responsible for leading Constellation Energy’s generation group in conducting financial due diligence activities related to mergers and acquisitions opportunities before taking a lead role in project financing activities for a newly formed joint venture between Constellation Energy Nuclear Group (CENG) and Electricite de France (EDF).
Mr. Mehta served as the Director of Structuring and Analysis for Pacific Gas & Electric’s National Energy Group, developing pricing methodologies and financial analytics to support commercial energy and merchant asset transactions and held a number of commercial and financial leadership roles in Risk Management, and Financial Planning & Analysis with Public Service Enterprise Group, Coach Leatherware and Airco Industrial Gases. Mr. Mehta started his professional career as a petroleum engineer in Texaco’s Western Canadian exploration and production operations.
He holds a master of business administration from the University of Michigan and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. He is certified as a Financial Risk Manager (FRM) by the Global Association of Risk Professionals and as a Professional Risk Manager (PRM) by the Professional Risk Managers International Association.
