Laurel McFadden

Deployment Program
Laurel McFadden serves as the deployment program manager for the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Indian Energy Policy and Programs. She is responsible for the execution and oversight of the Office’s support programs across financial assistance, technical assistance, and collaborative opportunities serving the Office of Indian Energy mission. Prior to joining this office, Laurel served as the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations director of independent assessments. In that role, she was responsible for multiple platforms evaluating technical feasibility; critical infrastructure security; and independent review of cost, schedule, and risk management to ensure successful project execution.
Laurel previously supported multiple private sector companies in aerospace engineering, security, and carbon capture technologies in operational and leadership roles, working domestically and internationally. She also supported the National Science Foundation Office of Polar Programs as a contractor providing arctic logistics support across Alaska, with the opportunity to live and work in several remote communities. Her work consistently prioritizes collaborating effectively with a diverse set of stakeholders working through unique challenges.
Laurel holds a graduate degree from the University of Alaska Anchorage and an undergraduate degree from Pomona College. She is a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and is based in the Seattle area.
