On February 8, 2023, GDO issued draft application guidance for public comment for the Maintaining and Enhancing Hydroelectricity Incentives Program (BIL Provision 40333) which provides incentive payments to enhance existing hydropower facilities for capital improvements directly related to grid resiliency, dam safety, and environmental improvements.
On Thursday, February 16, 2023, at 1:00 pm ET, DOE held an informal Public Informational Webinar to discuss general feedback from interested parties regarding the content of draft application guidance. The webinar was recorded, and a transcript of the proceedings will be made available on DOE’s website the week of February 26, 2023. The webinar presentation slides are available.
The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Grid Deployment Office hosted a webinar on February 16, 2023, to discuss the Hydroelectric Efficiency Improvement Incentives (Bipartisan Infrastructure Law provision 40332 and EPAct section 243) and the Maintaining and Enhancing Hydroelectricity Incentives (Bipartisan Infrastructure Law provision 40333 and EPAct section 247) programs and the recently released draft guidance for implementing this incentive.
