On July 31, 2023, the Department of Energy’s Grid Deployment Office (GDO) launched the $3.5 million Solar Ambassador Prize to fund Puerto Rico-based organizations to identify and engage 30,000-40,000 vulnerable households for residential solar and battery storage installations, funded through the $1 billion Puerto Rico Energy Resilience Fund.
GDO held applicant support webinars on September 12, and September 18, 2023. Live captions and Spanish translation were provided during the webinars. The application period for the Solar Ambassador Prize is now closed.
