DOE found that there are various basic model numbers of the metal halide lamp fixtures which failed to comply with energy conservation standards.

DOE ordered Thomas & Betts Corporation to pay a $119,852 civil penalty after Thomas & Betts had manufactured and distributed in commerce in the U.S. multiple units of the noncompliant metal halide lamp fixtures, which includes various basic model numbers.  The Order adopted a Compromise Agreement, which reflected settlement terms between DOE and Thomas & Betts.

On July 16, 2020, DOE issued a Notice of Noncompliance Determination to Thomas & Betts finding that the metal halide lamp fixtures, which includes various basic model numbers does not comply with applicable energy conservation standards based on DOE testing. Thomas & Betts provided DOE records showing the number of units Thomas & Betts distributed.
