DOE found that Santa Fe brand dehumidifier individual model Advance100 failed to comply with energy conservation standards.
December 13, 2024DOE ordered Therma-Stor, LLC (“Therma-Stor”) to pay a $276,962 civil penalty after Therma-Stor had manufactured and distributed in commerce in the U.S. multiple units of the noncompliant Santa Fe brand dehumidifier individual model Advance100. The Order adopted a Settlement Agreement, which reflected settlement terms between DOE and Therma-Stor.
On May 19, 2023, DOE issued a Notice of Noncompliance Determination to Therma-Stor finding that the Santa Fe brand dehumidifier individual model Advance100 does not comply with applicable energy conservation standards based on DOE testing. Therma-Stor provided DOE records showing the number of units Therma-Stor distributed. Federal law subjects manufacturers and private labelers to civil penalties if those parties distribute in the U.S. products that do not meet applicable energy conservation standards.
