DOE ordered SandenVendo America, Inc. to pay a $38,165 civil penalty after finding SandenVendo had manufactured and distributed in commerce in the U.S. multiple units of refrigerated bottled or canned beverage vending machine basic model VUE 40, a noncompliant product. The Order adopted a Compromise Agreement, which reflected settlement terms between DOE and SandenVendo.
On January 3, 2018, DOE issued a Notice of Noncompliance Determination to SandenVendo, Inc. finding that refrigerated bottled or canned beverage vending machine basic model VUE 40 does not comport with applicable energy conservation standards based on DOE Testing. SandenVendo was required to notify each person (or company) to whom SandenVendo distributed the noncompliant products that the product does not meet Federal standards. In addition, SandenVendo provided DOE documents and records showing the number of units SandenVendo distributed and to whom.
