DOE ordered Miele, Inc. (Miele) to pay a $100,000 civil penalty after Miele had manufactured and distributed in commerce in the U.S. multiple units of the noncompliant Miele dishwashers' basic model # PG 8056 U AE. The Order adopted a Compromise Agreement, which reflected settlement terms between DOE and Miele.
On June 29, 2023, DOE issued a Notice of Noncompliance Determination to Miele finding that the Miele dishwashers' basic model # PG 8056 U AE, does not comply with applicable water conservation standards based on DOE testing. Miele provided DOE records showing the number of units Miele distributed.
