DOE ordered Arneg, LLC to pay a $54,640 civil penalty after Arneg had manufactured and distributed in commerce in the U.S. multiple units of the noncompliant Urano commercial freezer models Urano Header, Urano BT Header, Urano 2500, Urano 1650, and Urano 2100 models. The Order adopted a Compromise Agreement, which reflected settlement terms between DOE and Arneg.
On September 19, 2022, DOE issued a Notice of Noncompliance Determination to Arneg finding that the Urano commercial freezer models Urano Header, Urano BT Header, Urano 2500, Urano 1650, and Urano 2100 model do not comply with applicable energy conservation standards based on DOE testing. Arneg provided DOE records showing the number of units Arneg distributed.
