Federal Energy Management Program

FEMP builds the capacity of the federal agency workforce to achieve efficient, clean, secure and resilient energy use in facilities and fleets—saving taxpayer money and reducing environmental impact.
Several attendees at the 2024 Energy Exchange event are engaging group conversations in the Federal Energy Management (FEMP) Hub space, where they can talk with other agencies and FEMP experts.

With more than 350,000 energy-utilizing buildings and 600,000 vehicles, the federal government is the nation’s largest energy consumer. FEMP resources and assistance help federal agencies leverage public-private partnerships and successfully implement replicable, well-designed projects.

Since 1975, these efforts have resulted in a 50% reduction in energy intensity across the federal government.
