This tool helps federal actors achieve the goal of attaining 100% carbon pollution-free electricity by 2030, with 50% (matched on a 24/7 basis) set out in Executive Order 14057. The Implementation Instructions from the Council on Environmental Quality states that carbon pollution-free electricity must come from the same balancing area it is consumed in. This tool lets agencies identify the balancing area and serving utility of their facility by entering its zip code.
