Fact sheet describes how the Naval Construction Battalion Center (NCBC) and the Mississippi Power Company integrated a 15-acre solar photovoltaic array with battery storage and backup generation using an innovative microgrid to ensure mission readiness at NCBC while increasing renewable energy generation on the grid in the utility's service area. This resilience effort will allow the base to more effectively deploy disaster recovery activities in the event of a grid outage.
