LOUIS — Every year, the International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), a distinguished accrediting body dedicated to enhancing the global standards of continuing education and training, acknowledges organizations that have made substantial contributions to the field. During this year's annual conference, held on Sept. 13, IACET recognized exceptional recipients, including two honorees from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).

DOE's Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) secured the prestigious IACET Innovation of the Year Award for Learner Engagement. This coveted award recognizes organizations that excel in creating engaging classroom environments, particularly through innovative courses. FEMP's Treasure Hunt training program exemplifies the goals of this award.
Mandated by law, FEMP plays a pivotal role in helping government agencies meet their energy and water reduction targets. FEMP's comprehensive training program, available through live and on-demand sessions, is designed to cultivate a high-performance workforce dedicated to constructing, operating, and maintaining energy-efficient and cost-effective federal facilities and fleets.

Re-tuning is a systematic, low-to-no-cost process that uses building automation system data to identify and correct operational issues, resulting in significant energy savings, cost reduction, improved occupant comfort, and in-house maintenance capabilities. |

DOE Program Manager Nael Nmair
DOE Program Manager Nael Nmair received the IACET Distinguished Service Award and is celebrated for his exceptional contributions and leadership in the continuing education and training Industry.
Born in Jordan, Nmair's journey led him to pursue electrical engineering in the United States, where he has achieved numerous professional milestones, including certifications as a Certified Professional Engineer, Project Manager Professional, and Certified Level II Contracting.
Nmair has three decades of experience in facility evaluation, design, and construction. He is deeply passionate about accreditation, the value of continuing education units, and the production of high-quality training materials to benefit stakeholders.
