Name and what you do at EM?
My name is Tony Chapman. I am a mine safety and health specialist - Safety Programs Division, Carlsbad Field Office (CBFO).
What branch did you serve in; when; where stationed?
I served in the Army National Guard, 920th Engineer Company based in Roswell, New Mexico.
Most memorable event/moment during your service?
My most memorable event during my enlistment was receiving an award from an Army ordinance battalion commander for leadership.
How has your military service helped prepare you for the job you do in EM?
Knowledge of conduct of operations, understanding chain of command, and peer camaraderie helped prepare me for the job I do in EM.
When did you begin working for EM and what got you interested in the cleanup mission?
I began my career with EM on June 4, 2024. The combination of my nuclear energy interests and my passion for mine safety is what bought me to EM.
