Stakeholders Meet With EM Leaders to Discuss Future of Moab Cleanup

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A delegation of stakeholders in the cleanup program from Moab, Utah met with EM leadership last week to discuss the future of the Moab Uranium Mill Tailings Remedial Action (UMTRA) Project. The Moab delegation was in Washington, D.C. to meet with congressional representatives to lobby for continued support for the Moab Project, which has successfully relocated more than 13 million tons of the estimated 16 million tons of uranium mill tailings in the pile and other contaminated materials from the Moab Site. The project is about 80% complete and recently completed demolition of EM’s last remaining legacy building at the site — the Atlas Building.
