Name and what you do at EM?
Jeremy Fuentes, Safety and Occupational Health Manager CBFO (Carlsbad Field Office) - WIPP (Waste Isolation Pilot Plant).
What branch did you serve in; when; where stationed? How many years of service?
I served in the New Mexico Army National Guard for 12 years and was honorably discharged at the rank of sergeant (E-5).
Most memorable event/moment during your service?
Experiencing the camaraderie shared between American troops, on and off the battlefield is something I will never forget.
How has your military service helped prepare you for the job you do in EM?
In the Army I was taught how to live my life by simple core values. I was taught to expect challenges and know that I can overcome them. I was taught how to lead. Most importantly I learned how proud I am to serve this great nation.

When did you begin working for EM and what got you interested in the cleanup mission?
I have worked for EM for four years. I am a Carlsbad native and have always heard great things about the WIPP. I have obtained specialized experience in area of mining throughout my professional career. I am lucky that I can apply this experience at WIPP and help do my part to clean up the nation’s legacy waste. I am proud to be a member CBFO team and proud to work at the WIPP!
