WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Environmental Management (EM) leaders participated in a U.S. House Nuclear Cleanup Caucus event titled, “EM's Trade Workforce: Getting the Job Done,” on Sept. 18. U.S. Reps. Chuck Fleischmann and Susie Lee and EM Senior Advisor Candice Robertson welcomed attendees to the caucus, which featured a panel of experts who discussed how to support EM’s trade workers and ensure their safety while carrying out cleanup work across the country. Panelists included Martin Helms, executive director, Helmets to Hardhats; Joel Bradburne, manager, EM Portsmouth Paducah Project Office; Ken Rueter, president and CEO, UCOR; and Ty Blackford, president and program manager, Idaho Environmental Coalition. It was the third caucus event held this year and was hosted by the Energy Facility Contractors Group, Energy Technology and Environmental Business Association and Nuclear Energy Institute.
