Sabeena Khanna, Director, Office of Insider Threat Program

Sabeena Khanna is the Director of the Office of Insider Threat Program (OITP) within the Office of Environment, Health, Safety and Security.  Mrs. Khanna is responsible in assisting the Designated Senior Official (DSO) of the Insider Threat Program with the execution of the DSO’s responsibilities.  

Mrs. Khanna has almost 25 years of professional experience within the security arena at DOE, the executive branch department charged with ensuring the security of the United States by addressing its energy, environmental and nuclear challenges through transformative science and technology solutions. She has also held several positions at the Department within the Safeguards and Security policy and implementation mission space since 1997.  Additionally, she has detailed on the Hill as a Congressional intern in her capacity as a student in a yearlong Executive Potential Program. 
Mrs. Khanna holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology from the University of Maryland, College Park and a Master of Science degree in National Resource Strategy from the National Defense University at Fort McNair in Washington, DC.

She lives in Maryland with her husband Rahul, their 3 kids and a dog.
