August 20, 2024Current and former federal and contractor employees may be eligible for benefits under the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program (EEOICPA). The Joint Outreach Task Group comprised of U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), DOE Former Worker Medical Screening Program (FWP), National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), and the DOL and NIOSH Offices of the Ombudsman is hosting an Informational Session on September 10,11, and 12 in Gallup, Grants and Albuquerque New Mexico.
Participants can learn more about the FWP, enroll in screening; EEOICPA, file a claim, get case status updates, or assistance with medical benefits.
The DOE FWP offers medical screening exams at no cost to all interested and eligible former DOE Federal, contractor, and subcontractor workers who may have been exposed to toxic substances and hazardous conditions while working at a DOE or a covered DOE-related contractor site. The FWP medical screening exams check for potential adverse health effects caused by exposures to radiation, beryllium, asbestos, silica, welding fumes, lead, cadmium, chromium, solvents, noise, and other toxic substances and hazardous conditions.

Employees or survivors involved in Uranium Mining, Milling, & Ore Transportation as well as, current and former employees of any facility involved in nuclear weapons production, are encouraged to attend!
