Informational Webinar on Fundamental Aerodynamics for Offshore Wind Performance and Reliability Request for Proposals

to

The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for research on Fundamental Aerodynamics for Offshore Wind Performance and Reliability. On behalf of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Wind Energy Technologies Office, NREL will award up to $6.2 million to teams from industry and academia to advance necessary data for predicting large turbine behavior. The data gathered from experiments will be made available to the broader wind energy community with a goal to increase understanding of the impact of wind loads on wind turbines to help the industry enhance the reliability and aerodynamic performance of large wind turbines and reducing the levelized cost of wind energy.

This informational webinar on Jan. 23, 2025, will provide more information about the RFP and answer questions from potential applicants. Submissions to the RFP are due by March 17, 2025.
