July 19, 2023The U.S. Department of Energy’s Water Power Technologies Office (WPTO) is hiring a GS-13 technology manager to support its Hydropower Program. The position will focus on hydropower technology research, development, and demonstration and will lead the Fleet Modernization, Maintenance, and Cybersecurity activity area. The deadline to apply to this position is 11:59 PT on August 2, 2023.
Specific assignments will include:
- Overseeing assigned sub-activity area(s) within the Hydropower Program, maximizing impact of accomplishments and results across the entire program and identifying gaps in the area.
- Providing technical expertise to program officials and anticipating, identifying, and resolving problems that arise in assigned projects.
- Maintaining responsibility for assignments across a wide range of activities, requiring the coordination of technical, legal, environmental, and financial considerations.
Necessary skills include:
- Engineer or scientific degree and experience with managing engineering studies or evaluations, or interpretation of scientific results.
- Ability to coordinate and manage projects with a multidisciplinary team involving technical, budgetary, legal, environmental, and procurement areas.
- Project/program management skills.
- Knowledge of hydropower and the hydropower industry.
