The Water Power Program recently issued a Notice of Intent for a funding opportunity expected to be posted early in 2014, pending congressional appropriations. The Notice of Intent, titled "Environmental Stewardship for Renewable Energy Technologies: Marine and Hydrokinetic (MHK) Environmental and Resource Characterization Instrumentation," intends to support the development of instrumentation, associated processing tools, and integration of instrumentation packages for the monitoring of environmental impacts of marine and hydrokinetic technologies and characterizing available wave resources.
