From the recent sales low of 10.3 million vehicles in 2009, light-duty vehicle sales reached 17.5 million in 2016 and have been over 17 million each year since. Sales data show 17.2 million light-duty vehicles sold in 2018 which is just over the 2017 total of 17.1 million vehicles.
Note: Light-duty vehicles includes all vehicles up to 14,000 lb. gross vehicle weight rating.
