Funding Number: DE-FOA-0001400
Funding Amount: $30,000,000
The SunShot Technology to Market “Incubator 11, SolarMat 4” funding opportunity will support the development of tools, technologies, and services that will significantly reduce the costs for solar energy systems across all technology areas (photovoltaics, power electronics, and non-hardware costs such as customer acquisition, permitting, financing, interconnection, and inspection). As part of this effort, this funding opportunity represents the coordinated release of all of the SunShot Tech-to-Market marquee annual funding programs designed to help for-profit businesses. This funding opportunity will be used to foster and accelerate the development of innovative and impactful technologies and businesses working to reduce the levelized cost of electricity for solar. It targets for-profit entities, as they are the most efficient means of directly impacting the solar energy market and the most critical components of the cost of solar energy. By leveraging America’s entrepreneurs and businesses, the Energy Department will ensure new products and business models have the best chance at having a positive impact on reducing the cost of energy from solar.
