December 5, 2024The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Geothermal Technologies Office (GTO) has launched the Partnerships to Accelerate Training & Hiring for Geothermal Heat Pumps (GHP PATHs) Prize, a $3 million competition to kickstart regional partnerships focused on building a stronger workforce for geothermal heat pumps (GHPs).
The three-phase prize offers competitors the opportunity to earn cash prizes for innovations that address the growing demand for skilled GHP workers, which is vital to expand the domestic GHP industry and use of GHPs nationwide. From hiring and training to certifying the next generation of GHP pros, this initiative is shaping the future of geothermal technology.
The GHP PATHs Prize is open to U.S.-based individuals, teams, and organizations. Participants can be entrepreneurs, companies, nonprofits, certification bodies, training providers, researchers, students, vocational schools, community colleges, universities, or any innovators with a transformative idea for building the GHP workforce.
