September 29, 2016The Fuel Cell Technologies Office will present a live webinar entitled "Past, Present, and Future Challenges in Electrocatalysis for Fuel Cells" on Thursday, October 13, from 12 to 1 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT). Addressing the need for active and durable, but cost-effective, materials that can be employed in fuel cells remains one of the main challenges for broad application of this technology. This presentation intends to provide a chronological overview of progress that has been made in design of platinum-based electrocatalysts that are currently used in low-temperature fuel cells. Particular emphasis will be placed on the necessity to resolve current limitations at the molecular scale, which can ultimately lead toward design of electrocatalysts with advanced properties.
