March 22, 2022Join the H2IQ Hour on March 29 at 12 p.m. EDT to learn about the compatibility of pipeline materials with hydrogen and blends of hydrogen and natural gas. National laboratories within the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Hydrogen Materials Compatibility Consortium (H-Mat) have led research and development (R&D) on hydrogen pipelines for over a decade in collaboration with other leading research groups and industry members throughout the United States. This R&D work has informed codes and standards that guide the design of hydrogen technologies. Currently, H-Mat is leading R&D on pipeline materials within DOE's HyBlend initiative to enable hydrogen blending in natural gas pipelines.
In this webinar, Dr. Christopher San Marchi will share the state of knowledge on compatibility of pipeline materials with hydrogen and blends, identify key gaps that must be addressed prior to large-scale deployment, and highlight opportunities and challenges when transitioning existing natural gas infrastructure to hydrogen service.
The H2IQ Hour will include a 40-minute live presentation followed by 20 minutes of Q&A. A recording of the H2IQ Hour will be available on the website after the event.
