Defense Logistics Agency Conference: Come Hear about the Latest Progress in Hydrogen and Fuel Cells

The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Worldwide Energy Conference is holding a workshop on New and Emerging Energy Technologies that includes hydrogen and fuel cell technologies. Dr. Sunita Satyapal, Director of the U.S. Department of Energy’s hydrogen and fuel cell activities in the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, will give an overview of hydrogen and fuel cells, along with examples of collaboration with the Department of Defense (DOD), including DLA, on Wednesday, April 12 at 9 a.m. in Potomac Room 3/4 at the Gaylord Hotel and Convention Center, National Harbor, Maryland. Pete Devlin, who leads market transformation and interagency coordination in the Fuel Cell Technologies Office, and John Christensen, former Chief of R&D at DLA, will also be available to interact and answer questions on potential opportunities for collaboration with DOD.

The fuel cell industry surpassed $2 billion in revenues, with more than 60,000 fuel cells shipped worldwide in 2015 and 30% growth in the market every year since 2010. Fuel cells have applications across transportation, stationary, and portable sectors with multiple opportunities for military and service operations.
