Lead Performer: Energy Analytics LLC – Canton, CT
DOE Total Funding: $85,813
Project Term: July 2, 2018 – May 1, 2019
Funding Type: Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase I Release 2
Related Projects: EnergyPlus, OpenStudio
Project Objective
The project will add automation around the OpenStudio platform (and other modeling tools to address non-building elements) to support processes associated with energy performance contracting (EPC) and measurement and verification (M&V) including utility bill collection and analysis, initial model creation, and model calibration. A unique element of the project is a focus on time-of-use (TOU) analysis for support of projects that include combined heat and power (CHP) and micro-grids. The tools will be used in a pilot microgrid project.
Project Impact
This project targets larger-scale EPC projects, which typically generate significant energy savings. A focus on enabling analysis for CHP and micro-grids is aligned with a new BTO focus on resiliency in addition to energy efficiency.
