The Building Technologies Office (BTO) 2024 Peer Review was held Oct. 21–24 at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City at Reagan National Airport in Arlington, Virginia.
BTO hosts Peer Reviews to generate robust and documented feedback from independent experts on its projects’ mission alignment, impact, approach, progress, and future work. This feedback informs amendments to current initiatives and creation of future initiatives. This year’s Peer Review gathered over 500 attendees from the federal government, national labs, industry, academia, and nongovernmental organizations. Along with nearly 140 project reviews, the agenda included the following:
- Plenary sessions led by BTO, including two fireside chats with state and HVAC industry leaders to discuss innovations, corporate strategy, and how industry and government can work together most effectively.
- The Phase 1 winners’ announcement for DOE’s Building Envelope Innovation Prize – Secondary Glazing Systems.
- A robust poster session featuring nearly 60 projects.
