Join an audience of thought leaders on December 10 at The Franklin Institute in Philadelphia as the DOE showcases the next big startups in building energy efficiency and solar energy. Demo Day challenges 19 teams from around the country to pitch innovative buildings and solar-focused software products to an esteemed panel of investors, entrepreneurs, and energy policy experts. Judges will award up to $700,000 in cash prizes to 7 of the 19 competing teams.
Demo Day culminates three stages of software development supported through the DOE Catalyst program, which runs from ideation to prototyping and incubation. The Catalyst cohort of teams has 60 days to develop innovative Minimum Viable Products in the building efficiency and solar energy technology areas with access to a host of resources, including $25,000 to unlock the TopCoder software crowdsourcing community.
Why attend Demo Day? Attendees will have opportunities to network with competing teams as well as with leaders from local and national startup communities and U.S. Department of Energy staff. The audience will also be able to vote on each product pitch, and these votes will be shared with the panel of judges.
