Managing industrial and domestic waste to produce biofuels and bioproducts provides the added benefit of mitigating the social and environmental challenges of waste disposal. Waste disposal sites are often disproportionately located in underserved communities and waste resources are highly variable, geographically and seasonally.
To accelerate the beneficial use of waste streams, RCR focuses on developing technologies to characterize, separate, fractionate, and preprocess waste streams. RCR also supports the production of co-products from the low-quality fraction of wastes that cannot be made into fuels.
