BOTTLE Webinar

The U.S. Department of Energy Bio-Optimized Technologies to keep Thermoplastics out of Landfills and the Environment (BOTTLE™️) consortium held a webinar on October 16, 2024, to discuss how the consortium uses analysis to guide research activities. The BOTTLE webinar recording, transcript, and slide presentations are now available.

BOTTLE, funded by DOE’s Bioenergy Technologies Office (BETO) and Advanced Materials & Manufacturing Technologies Office conducts analysis-guided R&D to change the way we recycle plastics. During the webinar, BOTTLE Analysis Co-Lead Dr. Taylor Uekert, a researcher with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, introduced key analysis techniques such as techno-economic analysis, life cycle assessment, and environmental justice evaluation. She provided examples from the BOTTLE portfolio demonstrating their use in benchmarking and optimizing the costs and environmental impacts of new innovations in plastic redesign and recycling.

Watch the webinar recording, read the text version, and download the presentations, on BETO’s website. Learn more about the BOTTLE Consortium and how they are transforming plastic pollution.
