May 5: Live Webinar on Building a Billion Ton Bioeconomy in the United States

The Energy Department will present a live webinar titled ''Building a Billion Ton Bioeconomy in the United States,'' on Thursday, May 5, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. Hosts from the U.S. Departments of Agriculture and Energy will solicit input from participants on opportunities that may exist and challenges that need to be confronted to achieve a focused vision for a successful bioeconomy in the United States. This listening session will use ThinkTank's collaborative technology to gather input from participants. In preparation for the session, it is strongly encouraged that attendees review the recently released Federal Activities Report on the Bioeconomy. The report was prepared to emphasize the significant potential for a stronger and cleaner U.S. bioeconomy through the production and use of biofuels, renewable chemicals, biobased products, and biomass heat and power. The report also delves into the wide-ranging, federally funded activities that are currently helping to bolster the bioeconomy.
May 19: Live Webinar on JUMP Sensor Technology Innovators

The Energy Department will present a live webinar titled "Promoting JUMP Sensors: Calls for Innovation,'' on Thursday, May 19, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. Attendees will learn about JUMP, an online community seeking input for sensor technology innovations. Winning submissions will have an opportunity to further develop their ideas with the Energy Department's national laboratories and industry partners via in-kind technical support worth up to $300,000, if approved. Partners include: Building Robotics and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Clean Energy and Argonne National Laboratory, and Emerson Climate Technologies and Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
