Full submission deadline for PowerAmerica’s Call for Projects is due Friday, December 22, 2017. PowerAmerica is seeking projects to accelerate the adoption of SiC and GaN power electronics technologies.

Manufacturing USA Releases Annual Report
The Manufacturing USA Annual Report for Fiscal Year 2016 describes the program’s work in helping to move discoveries in the nation’s universities and research laboratories to the shop floor here in America. It highlights the nine Manufacturing USA institutes that were active in Fiscal Year 2016, and documents the network's progress toward increasing the competitiveness of U.S. manufacturing.

Rolling Stone Magazine Honors Three Cyclotron Road Innovators
Two Cyclotron Road Fellows, Kendra Kuhl and Etosha Cave, were among Rolling Stone’s “25 People Shaping the Future in Tech, Science, Medicine, Activism and More.” Co-founders of Opus 12, they set out to rid the world of CO2 emissions by trapping greenhouse gases and converting it into carbon-based compounds that are used to make plastics and liquid fuels.
Cyclotron Road, one of three DOE Lab-Embedded Entrepreneurship Programs based at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, was created to address critical gaps in human capital development by providing stipends and two-year institutional homes where talented scientific innovators become first-time entrepreneurs.

DOE Names New Director to Lead Entrepreneurship Program at Argonne Lab
John Carlisle has been named the director of Chain Reaction Innovations (CRI), one of three DOE Lab- Embedded Entrepreneurship Programs aimed at accelerating job creation through innovation., Based at the U.S. Department of Energy, Argonne National Laboratory is sponsored by the Advanced Manufacturing Office.
