Rare earth-free metal amorphous nanocomposite soft magnetic materials will be developed as an enabling technology for next generation electric machines. A suitable motor prototype will be designed based on finite element analysis modelling and an operating 2.5-kilowatt standard industrial motor will be demonstrated with improved efficiency from 92% to above 96%.
