Director, Office of Analysis and Evaluation
Stephen Turner is the Director of the Office of Analysis and Evaluation within the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Enterprise Assessments (EA). Mr. Turner leads a team of analysts responsible for enhancing the use of risk‐informed, fact‐based analyses to identify and communicate emerging trends in safety, security, and cybersecurity within the Department. These analyses provide EA leadership and stakeholders with overarching information across all of EA’s programs, along with relevant data from within the Department, to prioritize EA assessment, enforcement, and training activities.
Mr. Turner has over 15 years of experience in the government, including 8 years as an officer in the U.S. Army where he served two tours in Operation Iraqi Freedom. After leaving the Army, Mr. Turner worked as a contractor for the Army and DOE. He joined EA’s Office of Analysis and Evaluation following several years working in DOE’s Office of the Chief Information Officer.
Mr. Turner holds a bachelor’s degree in electronic media and film production from Towson University and a master’s degree in logistics management from North Dakota State University.
