Mark Delgado

Mark A. Delgado serves as the Director of the Office of Safeguards Assessments within the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Enterprise Assessments (EA).  Mr. Delgado joined EA in 2020 as an information security subject matter expert and serves as a team lead during safeguards appraisals, including appraisals of special access programs and sensitive compartmented information facilities.

Mr. Delgado brings a wealth of technical expertise and field experience to the position, having served as the Information Security Program Manager at the National Nuclear Security Administration’s (NNSA) Sandia Field Office from 2014 to 2020.  He also served as the Program Manager for Program Management Operations and Information Security at NNSA’s Los Alamos Field Office from 2006 to 2014, and as deputy manager supporting the Emergency Operations Center during the Las Conchas fire in 2011.  In addition to those roles, he served on NNSA’s Accident Response Group at both locations.  Mr. Delgado currently supports the DOE Forensics Operations team.

Mr. Delgado holds a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Education with a minor in Munitions System Technology from Wayland Baptist University.  He also has a Master of Arts in Business and Organizational Security Management from Webster University and an Associate of Applied Science in Electronics System Technology and Munitions System Technology from the Community College of the Air Force, where he served from 1986 to 2006.  He has also completed the NNSA Future Leaders Program.
