Eric Nicoll serves as Director of Office of Resources Management, within the Office of Enterprise Assessments at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). He manages all budget, procurement, human capital management, communications, analysis and administrative services for the organization.
Mr. Nicoll previously served as the Deputy Director of the Office of Business Operations within the National Nuclear Security Administration (a separately organized agency within DOE) and held other positions in that organization from 2009 to 2012. From 2008 to 2009, he served as Director of the DOE Executive Secretariat, working directly with the Office of the Secretary of Energy. From 2004 to 2008, he served in the DOE Office of Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs, beginning as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Budget and Appropriations, and then serving as Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary and Acting Assistant Secretary.
Prior to joining the Department, Mr. Nicoll held the position of Senior Director of Government Affairs at the Food Marketing Institute, the national trade association representing the retail grocery and wholesale food distribution industry in Washington, D.C. from 1997 to 2004. He also previously served on Capitol Hill as Administrative Assistant and Legislative Director to U.S. Representative Thomas W. Ewing of Illinois from 1991 to 1997.
Mr. Nicoll earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Illinois State University and is a native of Aurora, Illinois.
