Anthony Taylor serves as the Deputy Director of the Office of Safeguards and Security Assessments within the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Enterprise Assessments. Mr. Taylor provides day to day direction for the office to analysts who conduct independent evaluations of the effectiveness of safeguards and security policies and programs throughout the Department in preventing the loss of special nuclear material and classified and sensitive information. Mr. Taylor previously was the Director of the Office of Safeguards Assessments.
Mr. Taylor has served as a Topic Team Lead and the Federal manager of the Department of Energy’s Composite Adversary Team and Engagement Simulation Systems programs. He brings a wealth of technical expertise and field experience, having served at the Richland Operations Office providing Federal oversight from 2010 to 2018. Prior to entering civil service, Mr. Taylor served as a support contractor and held numerous leadership positions in the United States Marine Corps.
Mr. Taylor holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering and Master of Engineering and Technology Management from Washington State University. He also completed the Leadership for a Democratic Society Program at the Federal Executive Institute in 2020.
