Issued to the University of California related to Operational Performance at the Los Alamos National Laboratory

On February 16, 2007, the National Nuclear Security Administration issued a Preliminary Notice of Violation (EA-2006-05) to the University of California for violations of 10 C.F.R. Parts 830 and 835 associated with multiple events and assessments including a March 2005 worker uptake event during a decontamination operation; a July 2005 Sigma Facility offsite contamination event; a November 2005 inspection performed by the Office of Security and Safety Performance Assurance; and a December 2005 TA-55 airborne contamination event that occurred at the Los Alamos National Laboratory.
